We got up at around 7:00.
Julie decided to do laundry today and we collected what we had and took
it down to the guest laundry. Only two
machines were available, so she had to skip a load until later. We then went out to exercise. We had one interruption to deal with the
laundry, but ended up going 7500 steps and 4 miles. It was again an overcast day with the
temperature at about 73 degrees.
After that, we wandered up to the Bistro with our computers
and spent several hours doing computer work.
The wireless access does work in our room, but it works so much better
in the Bistro. Julie and I both had a
Portuguese Custard Tart. It was
excellent as always. We decided to
basically skip breakfast and wait for lunch.
We had a hamburger, no bun for lunch and then went back to
the room. It had started raining again
and continued to rain for most of the rest of the day.
We saw a couple of members of the Oracle America’s Cup team
training in a smaller sailboat out in the sound. The America’s Cup Race will be held here in
Bermuda in the future.
We then went to see the afternoon movie (at 2:30) American
Sniper. It is one that we had wanted to
see, but just never got around to it. It
was a really good movie, very intense and very sad.
After the movie, we got ready for dinner. We ate in Prego with 12 other Cruise Critic
members. Keith and Anne Marie hosted the
event. We were divided into 2 tables of
8 and 6. We sat at a table with the
hosts, plus first time Crystal cruisers Judith and Larry, plus another couple
Roger and Beverly. Keith and Anne Marie
have cruised a ton on Crystal and are still on it from the World Cruise-in
fact, they’ve been on the ship since Dec 21st.
They don’t disembark until May 31st.
For dinner, Bob had for his appetizer, Insalata Caprese –
buffalo mozzarella and vine-ripened tomatoes with basil, extra virgin olive oil
& aged balsamic vinegar. For the
second course he had Prego’s Signature Cream Soup of Selected Italian Mushrooms
served in an oregano bread cup. His
entrée was Lasagna alla Casalinga – layers of fresh pasta with ground meat,
porcini mushrooms, tomato, Bechamel & Mozzarella Cheese. All dishes that we have had before and all
were excellent.
Julie had Slow-Poached Lobster Tail with cauliflower, garden
leafs and basil oil vinaigrette. For her
second course, she had an appetizer portion of the lasagna. Her main course was Veal Scaloppine – al
Limone Style, with capellini pasta and seasonal vegetables. She absolutely loved the lobster and felt
that it was even better than the lobster she had previously in the dining
room. The lasagna in an appetizer
portion size was great and the veal was first rate.
For dessert, we both had the strawberry sorbet with prosecco
floated on top.
After that, we went to the Crystal Cove for a nightcap and
then off to bed. We are losing another
hour tonight and the first talk in the morning is at 10am, so we had to hit the
sack early. We walked 11.9K steps and 6
miles.
