[Note - we were on the Disney Fantasy for 7 days early in the month. We are going to try and write something up for that cruise - at least a summary. TBD]
We started a 10 day cruise from Monte Carlo to Venice on the
Crystal Serenity. It was kinda crazy flight with us going SLC to Detroit to
Paris (Charles Degaulle) and then to Nice, France. We are supposed to board the
ship on April 8 in Monte Carlo. The flight was pretty uneventful (Bob got to watch
“Fantastic Beasts – Crimes of Grindelwald” going to Detroit and then he watched "Venom" on the way to Paris (in two segments). BTW – he liked Venom a lot. He has
never read the comic books, but felt that it was light and comedic and very
fun. Overall a great addition to the Marvel universe (although not Disney). We
flew in a new category that we had not flown before – Premium Economy. Our understanding
is that they would be very much like first class seats on old planes before the
lie flat seats. The flight to Paris was about 8 hours. The seats were indeed
just like the old first class seats, but we had hoped that they would have the
ability to put your feet up. They barely raised our feet up. Weirdly they were “mechanical”
seats and not electric (Note – this was an Air France flight and not Delta). We slept for about 5 hours and arrived safely.
Our flight was very empty with many in coach using a whole row to sleep in. We
flew overnight and arrived at Charles de Gaulle airport on Saturday morning..
Glad to be following another voyage. Did I see something about an ATW cruise?
